Learn how to organise your Trails in Horse Browser
Do you ever get the notion that there’s a better way to organise your internet research? Horse Browser is a new web browser, designed for online research. As you browse, every link opens in a new page and is saved on a Trail, a list of nested pages stored in your sidebar. This means you can keep track of research and say goodbye to the messy tabs you’re used to in Google Chrome.
In this blog post, we’ll be answering the question ‘how do you create folders in Horse Browser?’.

➤ What is Horse Browser?

Horse Browser replaces Tabs with its unique navigational method, named Trails. Every time you click on a link, Horse Browser opens a new page on the Trail, creating nested pages that track your online research.
Trails appear as vertical list in your sidebar and act as your History, Bookmarks and Tabs in one. Horse Browser tracks your research and saves your pages, much like a Notes App. You can shut down and re-open Horse Browser and everything you need is conveniently stored in one place.

➤ Does Horse Browser have folders?

To efficiently organise your online searches, it helps to group Trails, based on different research topics and tasks.
Many early users of Horse Browser asked the same question: 'When are you introducing folders?'. After deep-diving online, they wanted to tidy up Trails into folders, based on different research topics and tasks. They also wanted to be able to make notes along the way.
These requests inspired two types of Trails: Areas and Projects.

➤ Areas and Projects

An Area is a Trail with a header for your sidebar, making it easier to keep your research tidy. Projects are Trails that contain note-making so you can write and make notes directly in Horse Browser.

➤ How to Create An Area in Horse Browser

  1. Write the name of your Area and hit Return to save
  1. Scroll over the Area and click + to add Subtrails to your Area or use ⌥ ⌘ T on Mac or Alt + Ctrl + T on Windows and Linux
  1. Alternatively, simply drag-and-drop Trails inside

➤ How to Create A Project in Horse Browser

  1. To open a new Project, click on the document icon at the top of the sidebar
  1. Write the title of your Project and add a custom icon by selecting the blank page symbol to the right of the title.
  1. You can then add notes to your Project area by writing under the title. Notes are plain text for now, but more features are coming.

  1. Scroll over the Project and click + to add Subtrails to your Project or use ⌥ ⌘ T on Mac or Alt + Ctrl + T on Windows and Linux. You can also add Side Trails to your Project.
  1. Remember, you can drag-and-drop any existing pages and Trails into your Project.

➤ In conclusion

In this post, you learnt how to use Areas and Projects in Horse Browser. An Area is a Trail with a header for your sidebar, making it easier to keep your research tidy. Projects are Trails that contain note-making so you can write and make notes directly in Horse Browser.
These two types of Trail provide flexibility to create your own unique organisational system that works for you.

Sencha Tea

Sencha (煎茶) is a type of Japanese ryokucha (緑茶, green tea) which is prepared by infusing the processed whole tea leaves in hot water. This is as opposed to matcha (抹茶), powdered Japanese green tea, where the green tea powder is mixed with hot water and therefore the leaf itself is included in the beverage. Sencha is the most popular tea in Japan. It represents about 80 percent of the tea produced in Japan.
