What your subscription builds

A browser with one magnificent customer: you.

Your subscription pays for Horse itself: the browser, the updates, and the stubborn invention required to make Trails® work across a web built for tabs. No feature tiers. No upgrade maze. You get the whole Horse.

That gives us a beautifully simple arrangement. Horse earns another year by becoming more useful to the people riding it. You bring the unfinished idea. We keep building the browser that gets you back to it. Onward!

No ads. No browsing surveillance.

Horse does not sell ads or track what you browse inside the app. The business model is right there in the price: riders fund Horse, so Horse can keep working for riders.

Before you switch

Know the whole deal before you saddle up.

Horse is a daily browser for desktop computers. It is also its own peculiar and powerful creature. Check the parts that matter to you, then give it work worthy of the trial.

Computers
Horse runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux. One license covers every computer you own. There is no mobile version yet.
Websites
Horse uses the same website engine as Chrome, so websites generally work as they do in Chrome. The web remains the web; Horse transforms the way you move through it.
Extensions
Seven extensions are tested and available: 1Password, Bitwarden, uBlock Origin Lite, Dark Reader, DeepL, Obsidian Web Clipper, and Zotero Connector. Horse does not yet support every extension in the Chrome Web Store.
Moving your things
Horse imports lists of links from Markdown. It does not import a whole Chrome or Safari profile, so bookmarks and saved passwords do not move automatically. Keep passwords in 1Password or Bitwarden, or start a local Saddlepack vault.
Between computers
Your license works on every computer you own, but Trails®do not sync automatically between computers yet. You can move selected ones manually as Markdown.
Protected video
Services that require Google Widevine do not work yet. Other video is unaffected while we work through Google’s licensing and approval process.
Trial and renewal
Try Horse free for 14 days. A payment card is required, and Stripe starts the annual subscription when checkout completes. Your license key arrives by email. Cancel from Billing before the trial ends and Stripe will not charge the first year; otherwise the first annual payment of $70 is collected.

Take Horse for a proper ride.

Bring the task that keeps surviving as forty-seven tabs. Follow every fascinating branch, step away, and come back. Give Horse two weeks to prove that the route can outlive the interruption. Let the machine remember!
