Version v3.0.0
Released on June 22, 2026
For four years, Horse ran in exactly one window. Not because one window was better for your brain. It was a limitation we couldn’t crack cleanly. Now we have. Press Cmd+N (Ctrl+N on Windows and Linux) and another Horse appears. Or right-click any Trail and send it straight to its own window. One per monitor, one per project, one per pile of “read later” tabs you’ll get to eventually (we see you). Every window shares the same Trail tree, and each keeps its own place in it.
- Multiple windows! File → New Window or Cmd+N (Ctrl+N on Windows/Linux), all sharing one Trail tree, each with its own selection
- “Open in New Window” on the right-click menu
- Open windows and their positions are remembered between launches
- A Beta channel in Settings. Stable stays tested and proven; Beta gets the next thing first
- Links opened from other apps now start loading immediately, even while Horse is still starting up
- Cmd+N now opens a New Window; New Area moved to Cmd+Alt+N (custom shortcuts carry over)
- Your current Trail starts loading before the interface appears, so windows open faster
