Horse Browser has a dark reader built in, no extension, no third-party permissions. Sites that have their own dark mode get left alone; sites that don't get readable dark styling applied on top.

Turning it on or off
Menu > View > Enable Dark Reader (or Disable Dark Reader when it's on).
Following your system theme
If you'd rather Horse switch to dark mode automatically when your operating system does:
Menu > View > Match Dark Reader to system theme
That way, an evening shift in macOS or Windows takes Horse with it.
In Settings
All three options are also in Horse > Settings (⌘ + , on Mac, Ctrl + , on Win/Linux).
