One Horse, multiple windows!

Horse has multiple windows, with the twist we always wanted: every window has all your Trails. You just choose a different page to view in each.

After a year in the lab, tearing Horse apart and putting it back together again limb by limb, I have given it multiple windows! And they come with the twist I always wanted: every window shares the same Trails®. Which is all of them.

After all, it’s not like your notes app uses a different set of notes for every window, so why would your browser have a different set of pages for every window? Ridiculous.

Every Horse window lets you browse through all your Trails®; you just choose a different page to view in each window. Keep a reference open beside the thing you’re writing, or compare places to stay without leaving the map behind.

You can expand and collapse Trails® independently, too. Each window keeps its own place while you browse. Add or move a page and the change appears in every window, because you’re looking at the same work, not separate collections to keep track of.

Closing a window leaves your Trails® intact. Deleting a page removes it from all windows. The multiple-windows guide explains what’s shared and what stays independent.

This feature arrived with Horse 3.0. Download the latest update, then press ⌘+N and try it for yourself.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy myself.
